Cool Links for 11-10-18
Today’s cool links for 11-10-18 include holiday Pringles, classic toys, and the baby that broke the internet.
Pringles jumps the shark this holiday season
Okay, so I’m not a big fan of Pringles potato chips. First, it’s questionable any potatoes died. Second, you can seriously eat a whole canister and still feel hungry. Third, potato chips should have ridges, am I right?
I understand marketing and anything for a buck, but I think Pringles has jumped the shark with its latest venture: holiday flavored chips. Specifically, turkey potato chips, stuffing potato chips, and pumpkin pie chips.
They’re available online only (sorry Kroger), $14.99 for a 3 pack. Which is way too much money for chips that aren’t made of potatoes, leave you hungry, taste like Nana’s pumpkin pie, and don’t have ridges.
What do you think? Would you buy these?
Classic toys inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame
The National Toy Hall of Fame (who knew about his place? I want to go) has three new inductees:
- Magic 8 Ball
- Uno
- Pinball
I’m skipping over pinball because I don’t play and don’t have the eye-to-hand coordination to anything but lose money playing it, but for all you pinball fans out there – your day has come.
Magic 8 Ball is cool if you want to know if Billy in second grade likes you, but it has limits. However, it is a classic toy and needs to be in the Hall of Fame.
Now, Uno, on the other hand—Reverse, Draw Two, Wild Card, Blue, Two, Reverse—Uno is a fast and furious game that delights all players. As the universe would have it, I bought a used deck last week at a garage sale. So it’s missing a few cards, but with the pace of the game, who cares if the green two isn’t around? I plan on introducing my grandchildren to the game and continue a family tradition.
Do you still play Uno? What’s your favorite card game?
The baby that broke the internet
I leave you with a lump in your throat as you watch this baby who received hearing aids and heard her mother for the first time. I have no words.
Can anyone say “Aw”?
Blessings,
Cheryl
