I’m proud to announce the publication of my newest book, Schnoztopia, the first in a series of paranormal mysteries. Officially, I’ll publish it using Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited on October 27, 2020, but you can get a FREE copy until October 1st here.

New name, new book

A teaser

Something stinks at Myth, Inc.

I should know. I’m part elf, part human, part anything else, and my keen sense of smell is legendary at the largest employer and governing body of the not-quite-as-magical-as-they-once-were myth.

When a dead troll turns up in my lab, I recognize the murderer’s scent—a vicious beast that shreds its victims.

But Myth’s Investigation Crime Unit has its own suspect—my part-time assistant, whose werewolf traits neatly matches the evidence.

With the tenacious and beautiful pixie, Kix, at my side, my reputation at stake, an innocent man jailed, and a killer on the loose, I race to uncover the truth before another myth falls prey.

I’m more than ready for the challenge.

They don’t call me the Schnoz for nothing.

Schnoztopia’s history

This story started with Jack Trades, a detective at the Myth Investigation Crime Unit. I’d written three chapters of his journey before I had to stop and rewind. Certain events had to happen in his past before I could continue.

Somewhere along the line, Rory “the Schnoz” Harper and Kix Burrowes nudged their way into my imagination. One story led to another, and I have at least six books planned before West Haven’s timeline catches up to Jack.

To be transparent, I used a man’s name on the book cover, as the main character is male. A new series deserves a new name.

Noel Cash is based on the six initials of my grandchildren’s first names plus two others that fit. At one time, he was Charlie Lycos. I much prefer Noel Cash. It reminds me of Christmas money.

A good story is worth more than the identity of who wrote it.
